A Facile Two-Step PVP-Assisted Deposition of Co-Activated Nanosized Nickel Hydroxide Directly on a Substrate for Large-Scale Production of Supercapacitor Electrodes

The self-decomposition reaction of the nickel ammonia complex was used for hydroxide formation on foam with further modification in several ways. addition polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) and electrochemical or chemical activation cobalt to modify method. In all cases, structures Ni(OH)2 nanoflakes were formed. It found that flower-like particles Co(OH)2 precipitated during among nanoflakes. shown presence PVP decomposition suppressed highly branched particles. absence increased capacitive properties formed electrode at high current densities. highest capacitance 1408 F/g 1 A/g sample by cobalt.
